NEW Night School Credit Course
Information Technology for the School or Workplace – BTA3O1

 

Using a hands-on approach, students of all ages will develop information technology skills appropriate for the workplace or (post-secondary) school environments. Using the business software applications Microsoft Office 2013 Word and Excel, students will demonstrate the ability to apply a variety of word processing and spreadsheet techniques to produce common business documents, while developing digital literacy and business communication strategies


 
Night School Credit Course Information 

Course decisions will be made the week of September 11th

You will only be notified by a phone call if the course is CANCELLED

To confirm if a registration has been received please email NightSchool@dsbn.org include your full name and what night school course you have registered for.
We do not confirm registrations over the phone.

Cancellation of Classes 

A minimum enrolment of 22 students is required for a course to be offered. The District School Board of Niagara reserves the right to terminate, combine or offer an alternative mode of delivery (such as correspondence or online materials) to any course in which enrolment falls below the acceptable level

Registration will remain open until the Semester One night school program begins the week of September 19th. Decisions regarding classes will be made the Thursday/Friday before the programs begins.

There are no registration FEES for Night School Credit Courses 

Textbook Deposit 

There is no registration fee for credit courses. Credit courses may require a textbook deposit payable IN CASH at the time of issue by the teacher. Students will receive this information from their teacher on the first night of school. Upon return of the textbook, the student will receive a full refund by cheque in the mail within 30 days of the course ending.

Registration Information for Day School Students 

Students attending a day school program may register for a night school class with permission and authorization from their principal/guidance department.

On-line registrations sent in by a day school student will NOT be accepted, on-line registrations can only be sent in by the school designate, such as a guidance counselor.

A maximum of one course per semester may be taken.

Current VISA fee paying students may be required to pay a fee to take a night school credit course. Please contact Student Services at your day school for more information.

Students may enroll only in the course indicated on the application. If the course requested is not available or the student requests a course change, a new application form MUST be completed and signed or authorized by the Principal or guidance department.

DAY SCHOOL STUDENTS WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED WITHOUT A COMPLETED REGISTRATION FORM INCLUDING THE STUDENT’S OEN NUMBER AND SIGNED BY THEIR DAY SCHOOL PRINCIPAL

Day Student applications are to be sent via courier to Adult & Community Education, or emailed to NightSchool@dsbn.org before the beginning of night school.

YOU ARE CONSIDERED AN ADULT STUDENT AT NIGHT SCHOOL IF YOU ARE CURRENTLY NOT REGISTERED IN A SECONDARY DAY SCHOOL PROGRAM

COUNSELLING FOR ADULT STUDENTS 
Educational counseling is available to Night School Students who are not enrolled in a day school to discuss Requirements for the Ontario Secondary School Diploma or College/University Applications.
Adult students may take advantage of this service at the In-Person Registration at St. Catharines Collegiate, please check the current Learn Explore Discover guide at www.dsbn.org/community for current dates and times for the in person registration.

Late registration will be accepted at St. Catharines Collegiate starting at 6:00 p.m. on the first night of the program, completed application must be given to the night school secretary at St. Catharines Collegiate
