The Media Collection

The Media Collection consists of thousands of educational resources with more added every year. Access to digital resources such as streaming video, audio, images and documents is provided through Medianet. Simply log in with your name and password and you can view the titles available in Medianet, Learn360, Access Learning, the National Film Board of Canada and Khan Academy.

The following is a listing of the various categories of Media. The loan periods have been designed to maximize the circulation component for the various types of materials, while providing sufficient time for the borrower to effectively utilize these media items. Loan periods exclude shipping times.

Streaming Video/Digitized Audio, Documents, Images More than 86,000 titles

Play or view on the computer in your classroom or library, immediately! This is the newest format and the collection will be continually growing.

Literature Circles Kits  30 school days

Media services circulates a number of literature circles kits for use in the classroom. These sets are designed to encourage reading and an appreciation of literature on the part of the students. Literature Circles kits are themed units with multiple titles which provide a variety of choice to the individual student's interest and reading level.

Big Books  20 school days

There are a number of Big Books, with accompanying small books and/or audio cd for the primary level.

Audio Visual Equipment is not booked directly as is the case for all other Media items. An info button provides additional ordering information and instructions.

Arrangements must be made by your school to transport some of these very expensive and relatively fragile equipment items.
