Criteria

To be eligible, a candidate must:
• successfully complete high school with the necessary compulsory credits to obtain their Ontario Secondary School Diploma;
• currently reside in the Town of Niagara-on-the-Lake, including the villages of Virgil, Queenston, St. David’s, and the Niagara on the Green community. (Note: the applicants mailing address must contain one of the above villages as their residency during high school);
• be graduating from one of the following secondary schools A.N. Myer, DSBN Academy, Eden High School, Governor Simcoe, Laura Secord Secondary, Stamford Collegiate or St. Catharines Collegiate;
• complete and submit all required documentation for the bursary application package;
• be a deserving student, based on selection criteria, such as, but not limited to: academic performance, school and community involvement and, more importantly, on financial need and effort.

Checklist

Recipient must submit the following to their Guidance counsellor by email:
• Newark Neighbours Bursary application form
• Bursary questionnaire (2 pages)
• Declaration of Financial Need form, completed by Parent / Guardian
• Newark Neighbours collection of personal information privacy statement
• academic reference letter
• employer / volunteer reference letter
• current resume
• copy of acceptance to a post-secondary institute
• current credit counselling summary or transcript
