SOAR into secondary with this in-person self-advocacy and coping skills program for students entering grades 7-8 with a diagnosed, identified, or suspected learning disability. This program aims to prepare students for the transition to high school by equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate their new school environment and advocate for their learning needs.

Coding and Social Skills for Students with Autism Spectrum Disorder
DSBN students with Autism entering grades 1-8

In partnership with Learnstyle, this in-person program supports peer relationship building and an introduction to age-appropriate coding opportunities. Curious beginners and those with some prior experience will love this robotics-themed camp! Students with Autism will learn computational problem-solving strategies and basic coding concepts and build friendships through a shared interest in computers, coding and robotics.

We Play! Movement and Sensory Summer Program

DSBN students ages 6-13 with a diagnosis of Autism entering or returning to a Fundamental Skills Program or Communication Program.

Let’s play! Students will participate in a play-based program that focuses on social communication, physical activity and regulation. This program will be delivered in-person by DSBN Movement Resource Teachers and supported by a DSBN Occupational Therapist.

SOAR into Post-Secondary with this in-person small-group transition support program for students in Grade 11 and 12 with a diagnosed, identified, or suspected learning disability. In SOAR Post-Secondary, participants work on developing self-advocacy and coping strategies, and learn about the various resources available at university and college to prepare for a positive transition to post-secondary education. This program aims to prepare students by equipping them with the necessary skills to navigate their new environment and advocate for their needs.
