LETTERS FOR PROOF OF EDUCATION IN ENGLISH or FRENCH
Proof of Education in English Letters are typically required by former students who have moved to Quebec and want to place their child(ren) in English-speaking elementary schools.
Proof of Education in French Letters are typically required by former students who attended French Immersion in elementary school and want to place their child(ren) in French-speaking elementary schools
As per the list on the cover of the student’s OSR, the letter will list the following information for each Ontario based school attended by the student:
- the name of the school attended
- the associated school board
- the grades attended while at the school
- the dates of attendance at the school
- the main teaching language at the school
Former students must complete the Proof of Education in English or French request form and submit it along with proof of ID.
Proof of Education in English or French Letter
The fee is $5.00 per letter. Letter requests may take up to ten business days; however, during peak periods, processing time may be longer.
Note: If mailing to multiple addresses, enter “See attached list” and provide the mailing addresses in the email that the form and your proof of ID are attached to.
If ordering copies to be sent directly to a school or school board:
Include the full mailing address with the name of the department or contact person where the letter is to be directed.
If the school has the option to receive a scanned letter as place holder until the hard copy arrives in the post, include the school contact’s email address
In compliance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act, the Records Centre is not permitted to release any student information over the phone, or without explicit consent from the named individual.
