Educators Connect with Powerful Learning Technology at IT Conference

Educators across Ontario will come together to learn, share and grow at one of the largest IT events in the province. The Connect 2012 conference is designed to introduce educators to a wide range of different and exciting technology opportunities to support student learning. Presented in partnership with Audcomp, the conference will take place at the Niagara Fallsview Casino Resort on May 9 - 10.

At the conference, participants will be able to meet industry leaders who will share exclusive information on industry trends and enhancements. Attendees will also be able to explore different IT solutions such as cloud computing, virtualization and security. “Connect 2012 will show how schools and business can use technology to take innovation to the next level,” says Dino Miele, DSBN Chief Information Officer.

The event will feature a number keynote addresses, product demonstrations and breakout sessions. Educators may be particularly interested in sessions such as “Engaging Tech-Savvy Kids in Literacy”, “Visual Schedules: Integrating Multi-Media for Student Success”, “I Want to be a Digital Teacher: What Do I Do Now?” and “21st Century Teaching Tools”.

“We know that students are interested in using technology to learn,” says Miele. “From Web 2.0 tools to netbooks, iPods and other devices, the DSBN has worked hard to incorporate technology into the classroom. The Connect 2012 conference will bring together educators and industry leaders to explore how the latest technology can further support students.”
