Creativity on Display at Off the Wall Art Show
Visitors
to the DSBN Education Centre are being treated to some very interesting,
thought provoking and creative artwork during the annual “Off the Wall” art
show. The show, which takes place from
February 11 to March 18, gives students from grades 9 -11 an opportunity to put
their paintings, pictures, drawings, sculptures and other creations on display.
"This
show is an excellent opportunity for students to showcase their skill and creativity
in the medium of their choosing," says DSBN Arts Consultant Gerda Klassen.
“Visual Art also involves a great deal of risk taking and social conscience,
and the Off the Wall show provides an encouraging and supportive environment
for students to explore their creative sides.”
The
opening will take place on February 11; from 4:30 – 6:00 p.m. Peter Vietgen,
Professor for Visual Art from the Faculty of Education from Brock University
will join DSBN staff to officially open the exhibition this evening.
Visitors are
encouraged to attend the free show at the DSBN Education Centre daily from 8:30
a.m. - 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday. The Education Centre is located at 191
Carlton Street in St. Catharines.
