Saltzman
to Talk Tech at Connect Conference
If you’ve
been to a movie recently, you’ve likely seen his segments reviewing the latest
technology. In May, Marc Saltzman will be coming to Niagara Falls to get
involved in the world of educational technology at the Connect conference.
Connect is a national
conference that brings together educators and technology leaders. “Today’s
students are growing up in a world infused with technology,” says Dino Miele,
DSBN Chief Information Officer. “They use it to learn, communicate and create.
It is important for educators to be able to reflect that reality in the
classroom. The Connect conference will support them in using the tools and
knowledge relevant to students.”
In his
address, Saltzman will be speaking about educational technology tools that “make
the grade.” Having authored more than 15 books since 1996 and contributed to countless
magazines and media programs, Saltzman is one of North America’s most trusted
technology experts.
At the
conference, Saltzman will be joined by fellow keynote speaker Eric Sheninger. He
is a Senior Fellow and Thought Leader on Digital Leadership with the
International Center for Leadership in Education (ICLE) and Scholastic
Achievement Partners (SAP). Sheninger also maintains a presence as a
practitioner by serving as the K-12 Director of Technology and Innovation for a
school district in New Jersey.
In addition
to the keynote speakers there will be numerous professional development
sessions.
More than
2,000 educators, technology providers and business leaders are expected to take
part in the conference from May 5 – 8. Connect 2015 will be held at the
Scotiabank Convention Centre located in Niagara Falls.
