DSBN,
OSSTF Ratify Agreement
The District School Board of Niagara and the federation representing public secondary school teachers in Niagara have ratified a new, local collective bargaining contract.
Jim Morgan, Superintendent of Human
Resources said the DSBN "is pleased to have a contract in place and to be moving forward in a positive fashion.”
The local contract follows the provincial agreement between the Ontario Government, the Ontario Public School Boards Association and the Ontario Secondary School Teachers Federation, which was reached in the fall of 2015. Under the terms of provincial legislation, the government negotiates big ticket items such as salary, while individual school boards are responsible for reaching agreements with local bargaining units.
