Fort Erie’s new high school has been dubbed the “Harvard of Niagara.”
Such high praise comes, of course, from the school’s proud principal, Fred Louws. However, Louws has good reason to be so enthusiastic about the new school. Greater Fort Erie Secondary School, which brings together Ridgeway and Fort Erie students, is truly a showcase facility for the Town.
Students were all smiles as they walked through the main doors. Many remarked at how the building looked more like a college than a high school.
The school, located across the street from the Leisureplex, boasts 47 classrooms, science labs, and a $3 million dollar theatre, which is the result of a partnership between the DSBN and the Town of Fort Erie.
Greater Fort Erie is the first DSBN high school to be built in over 40 years.
