DSBN Statement Regarding Toronto Attack
The DSBN will lower flags across the system from April 24 – 30 in solidarity with those affected by the tragic events in Toronto on Monday.
“We send our love and sympathy to those grieving the loss of their family members and wish for the speedy recovery of those injured,” said Dale Robinson, Chair of the Board of Trustees. “While we share in the grief of the city, we are inspired by the selfless acts of heroism of the first responders and citizens who lent assistance in any way they were able.”
“Despite this horrific loss of life, Torontonians have shown an incredible resiliency that serves as an example to the rest of the country,” said Warren Hoshizaki, Director of Education. “As educators, we will hold true to our values and continue to model the character traits that we seek to teach students every day: courage, caring, perseverance, and optimism.”
