DSBN to Raise Pride Flag

May 28, 2019

On Monday, June 3, DSBN Chair Sue Barnett will be joined by students and Chairperson Enzo De Divitiis from Pride Niagara for the DSBN’s annual Pride flag raising being held at Welland Centennial Secondary School.

“The DSBN is committed to equitable, inclusive schools where all students feel welcomed and their contributions valued,” says Barnett. “The raising of the Pride flag is an important symbol of our support for LGBT+ students.”

“This is the 15th year raising the pride flag at City hall in St. Catharines and across the Niagara Region.  Having DSBN joining the celebration of pride and equality speaks volumes of their dedication to their students and diverse community,” says De Divitiis.  “Celebrating our LGBT+ heritage & building traditions together.”

All DSBN schools will either raise the flag or display it in a prominent place within the school on June 3.
