Dear DSBN Families:

The DSBN is following the Ministry of Education’s mandate that requires school boards to collect the vaccination status of all DSBN staff. It is mandatory that DSBN staff provide documentation to confirm that they are fully vaccinated, or they must disclose that they are not vaccinated. If staff are not vaccinated for medical reasons they will be required to provide documentation. Some staff may also have religious or personal reasons for not getting vaccinated.

All staff who are not vaccinated will be required to take regular rapid antigen testing to make sure they test negative for COVID-19. In addition to regular testing for COVID-19, staff who have religious or personal reasons for not getting fully vaccinated will also have to participate in a Ministry of Education provided training session.

The DSBN Staff Vaccination Disclosure Information website will summarize the collective vaccination rates of all DSBN staff. This information will be aggregated, depersonalized, attestation, statistical data, meaning that it is anonymous and will not identify any person, or school. The vaccine disclosure information will be posted on the DSBN website at https://www.dsbn.org/covid-19-information and will be available by September 15. It will be updated monthly. 

Additionally, all non-DSBN partners who provide services to students, from school nurses, to extracurricular athletic coaches are included in these measures.
