Dear DSBN Students and Families, 

A major winter storm is expected in Niagara later today that will cause dangerous driving conditions on Friday and over the weekend. Based on this forecast, Niagara Student Transportation Services (NSTS) is anticipating that buses will be cancelled tomorrow.

Considering the current information, and with safety in mind, DSBN, in collaboration with Niagara Catholic, has made the proactive decision to close all schools tomorrow, on Friday, December 23, 2022.

It is never an easy decision to close our schools, and we know the weather is unpredictable. However, this decision will give families time to prepare, and most importantly, it was made in the best interest of everyone’s safety.  

School staff have been advised to tell students to bring home everything they need for the holidays with them tonight. Your child’s teacher may choose to send home learning resources for tomorrow, however these activities are optional.  

Please stay safe out there. We hope you have a wonderful holiday break, and we will see you back at school on Monday, January 9, 2023.
