At the November 19 Organization Meeting, elections were held for the positions of Chair and Vice-Chair of the Board of Trustees. Sue Barnett and Alex Bradnam were both re-elected.
Sue Barnett, Trustee for Welland, was elected as Chair of the Board. This is her 15th year with the DSBN.
“We have a collaborative, forward-looking group of Trustees. We all fulfill our positions to the best of our abilities, and we make an amazing unit while supporting all DSBN students and staff,” said Barnett. “As we look ahead, we must reassess our methods, be flexible and adaptive in order to continue to provide the best learning and working environments for staff and students in this ever-changing world. I know that our Board of Trustees will carefully consider each decision we make as we work alongside the senior team to carve out a new and brighter future for DSBN.”
Alex Bradnam, who is finishing his 11th year as Trustee for St. Catharines/Niagara-on-the-Lake, was elected as Vice-Chair. “One of things I am most proud of in this Board is our collective ability to support and listen to each other. Though we may not always agree, we remain open and respectful of new ideas,” shared Bradnam. “DSBN is a growing Board. I am tremendously excited for what the future holds. There is so much more we can do for the DSBN. Thank you for allowing me to do my small part.”
Chair Barnett and Vice-Chair Bradnam will serve the Board in their current roles through November 2025.
