What Does This Program Offer?
Your diploma could be closer than you think!
The Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition PLAR gives adult students the opportunity to get their diploma quicker than they might expect. Prior Learning Assessment and Recognition (PLAR) is the formal evaluation and credit-granting process whereby students may obtain credits for prior learning. Prior learning includes the knowledge and skills that students have acquired, in both formal and informal ways, outside secondary school. Students may have their knowledge and skills evaluated against the expectations outlined in the Ontario curriculum in order to earn credits towards their OSSD.
Grade 9/10 Junior PLAR Process:
- If you have less than 16 credits you will be required to complete an individual in person assessment in some or all of the following subject areas: (English, Mathematics, Science, and Canadian Geography/History).
Grade 11/12 Senior PLAR Process:
- If you have more than 16 credits you may be interested in completing a Senior PLAR ( life and work experience) virtual package.
