Non-Profit Youth Programs - No Fee
- Participants must be under 18 or under 28 for participants with a disability
- No fee associated to program
|
Example:
- Scouts
- Girl Guides
- Boys and Girls Club
- Y.M.C.A.
- Children’s sports and recreation service providers
In order to claim non-profit status you must submit:
- A registered charitable organization number
- If incorporated, copy of "Letters Patent”
- If not incorporated, a letter from the Executive Director or signing authority confirming status as a non-profit organization

Non-Profit Youth Programs - Program Fee
- Participants must be under 18 or under 28 for participants with a disability
- Fee charged to participate
|
Example:
- Youth sports or recreation groups run by community organizations where a participation fee is charged
- Volunteer run youth recreation programs and leagues where coaches, organizers, etc. are volunteers and all revenue is re-invested directly back to the organization
In order to claim non-profit status you must submit:

Non-Profit Community Programs
- Other non-profit community organizations whose activities are geared at adults, over 18 years of age or over 28 for those with a disability
- Programs sponsored by community service clubs or organizations
- Private community groups/individuals for non-commercial, non-profit purposes
|
Example:
- Seniors groups
- Special interest groups, sports groups
- Health associations, adult sports or recreation groups run by community organizations
- Family reunions, weddings anniversaries, birthday parties
- Red Cross
- Canadian Cancer Society

Religious and Church Groups (Other Than Youth Activities) Municipalities Local Colleges and University
- Programs for which no user-fee charged
|
Example:
- Municipalities for non-user fee activities such as public meetings
- Local colleges and university for non-fee related activities
|

Commercial Groups and Profit Making Organizations/Individuals
- Commercial activities or programs for which admission fees are charged and/or activities that are operated for private or corporate gain
|
Example:
- Businesses and/or individuals charging for drama, music, dance, fitness, yoga, martial arts, soccer, basketball, theatrical and film productions, etc.
- Public concerts, dances, social functions where the purpose is to make a profit

Child Care – Before & After School
|
Example:
- Before and after-school child care programs, including those delivered as part of the Early Learning/Extended Day programming, delivered by pre-approved, eligible operators.
