Coding with the Microbit

 

Project Length:  1/2 day to start (see below)

Grade Level: 4-8

School Requirements:  Provide 15 computers, laptops or chrome books with usb ports, a work area such as Learning Commons or Classroom. 

Materials and Technology:  All other materials and technology provided by DSBN Makers

Project Description:  Develop your coding skills with the microbit circuit board.  Write programs with an on line coding software, download to the microbit and immediately see the results of your work.  Students will progress through a series of tutorials on coding.  The project can then evolve to include sensors, motors and other output devices.  The DSBN Makers will leave a class set of microbits and inventor kits with you as your class continues to use this device to explore the high tech world of coding and interfacing.
