Rocket Science and Data Management

Project Length:  1/2 day to start (see below)

Grade Level: 4-8

School Requirements:  A work area  such as Learning Commons or Classroom. 

Materials and Technology:  All other materials and technology provided by DSBN Makers

Subject Areas: Science, Math, Flight, Data Management

Project Description:  Explore the world of flight as you and your students build straw rockets. Test launch up to 12 rockets and record distances and height.  Use your collected data to create graphs and then draw conclusion about optimal flight paths and launch angles.  Teacher will continue data management after maker session is complete.
